Affected by this year’s No. 18 typhoon, “Saudel,” the coastal areas of Ningbo have experienced strong winds and heavy rainfall, putting the power infrastructure at regional highway service areas to a severe test in flood and typhoon prevention. In the face of operational risks posed by meteorological disasters, The operations and maintenance team of Ningbo Tian’an Equipment Installation Engineering Co., Ltd. promptly activated the typhoon‑and‑flood‑response emergency plan, immediately deploying to service stations along the expressway to conduct specialized inspections of electrical equipment and address potential hazards, thereby ensuring stable power supply at highway service areas and safeguarding the electrical safety of traveling drivers and passengers.
During the typhoon’s passage, heavy winds and torrential rain created extremely adverse conditions for outdoor operations. Operations and maintenance personnel, fully equipped with protective gear, worked tirelessly at various highway service areas to conduct comprehensive hazard inspections. Focusing on critical power‑supply equipment such as packaged substations, they systematically checked key parameters—including water accumulation at equipment foundations, cabinet sealing and protection, drainage in cable trenches, operation of cooling fans, and equipment load—while meticulously identifying and addressing potential vulnerabilities.
During on-site inspections and troubleshooting, operations and maintenance personnel identified potential hazards, including standing water around certain pad-mounted substations and aging seals on cabinet doors. The team promptly initiated emergency response measures, swiftly draining and clearing sediment from the site and reinforcing or replacing defective sealing components on‑site. These actions effectively prevented rainwater ingress that could lead to equipment malfunctions, ensured a safe operating environment for the substations, and strengthened the foundation for reliable high‑speed power supply.
