Xinjiang Oilfield Company is one of the largest oil production enterprises in western China, affiliated with China National Petroleum Corporation. It primarily focuses on the exploration and development of oil and gas resources in the Junggar Basin and its surrounding basins, as well as related activities such as collection, transportation, and sales.

Xinjiang Oilfield is a major oilfield developed and constructed after the founding of New China. It ranks fourth among China's onshore oilfields in terms of crude oil production and has maintained steady growth for 25 consecutive years, with cumulative output exceeding 200 million tons. In 2002, its annual crude oil production surpassed 10 million tons, making it one of China's western region's "ten-million-ton" oilfields. The Junggar Basin boasts exceptionally abundant oil and gas resources, with total petroleum reserves estimated at 8.6 billion tons and natural gas reserves reaching 2.1 trillion cubic meters. Currently, however, the proven oil recovery rate stands at just 21.4%, while the natural gas recovery rate remains below 3.64%. This indicates vast exploration potential and immense room for future development. Looking ahead, the company will remain firmly guided by the Scientific Development Concept, adopting a strategic approach to the scientific management of the oilfield. We will accelerate our development strategy, vigorously pursue technological innovation, and prioritize people-oriented initiatives. Our ambitious goal is to achieve an annual oil and gas production capacity of 20 million tons by 2010. Over the next 5 to 10 years, we aim to establish Xinjiang Oilfield Company as a leading domestic oil and gas producer. By mid-century, the oilfield will continue to thrive with renewed vitality, evolving into a world-class enterprise that is innovative, competitive, and sustainable—truly a "century oilfield" for the ages.
