Pudong International Airport
Shanghai Pudong International Airport is located in the coastal areas of Jiangzhen, Shiwan, and Zhujiao within Pudong New Area, Shanghai, China. It spans an area of 40 square kilometers and is approximately 30 kilometers from downtown Shanghai. In 2011, Pudong Airport handled 344,200 aircraft takeoffs and landings, accommodated 41.4423 million passenger trips, and processed 3.1086 million tons of cargo and mail. The airport accounts for about 60% of all flight operations at Shanghai’s airports, while its international passenger traffic ranks first among domestic airports worldwide, and its cargo and mail throughput places it third globally among all airports. Currently, 48 Chinese and foreign airlines operate flights to Pudong Airport, connecting it to more than 90 international (and regional) cities and 62 domestic destinations.
