Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center

Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center (English name: The Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center (abbreviated as JSLC), also known as "Dongfeng Space City," is one of China's key launch and test bases for scientific satellites, technology demonstration satellites, and carrier rockets. It was formerly under the command of the former General Equipment Department of the People's Liberation Army, but now falls under the Strategic Support Force.
Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center (formerly under the General Equipment Department) Site 20 is China's earliest-established and largest comprehensive missile and satellite launch center. It serves as the primary base for testing and launching the Long March series of carrier rockets, as well as various experimental satellites, application satellites, manned spacecraft, and rocket-missiles designed for medium- and low-Earth orbits. The site also undertakes critical tasks such as debris recovery and emergency life-saving operations for astronauts. Since its establishment on October 20, 1958, the center has successfully carried out 110 space missions, sending 145 satellites, 11 spacecraft, and 11 astronauts into orbit.
